Re: Grooms Cake
A grooms cake is usually served at the rehersal dinner, but a lot of couples have it at their reception as well. YOu still have your normal wedding cake too!
We're having ours at the reception. We are getting a cake made up of my FI's favorite sports team stadium.
He's excited about it!!

Re: Grooms Cake
a groom's cake is a southern tradition. it's usually an 'informal' cake and usually in chocolate. they tend to be decorated in a way to show the groom's likes/hobbies.
you don't HAVE to have it.
and like the previous poster mentioned, you can have it at the rehearsal (traditionally hosted by the groom's parents, hence a groom's cake) or you can have it at the reception.

Re: Grooms Cake
We served our groom's cake at our rehearsal dinner. For me, it was a special something just for my husband. It was a chess board made by the Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale.
Yes, Thank you for explaining. I think I might surprise my Fiance for the rehearsal.

I had a grooms cake made for my husband for our RD. It was a yellow corvette...his favorite car. I ordered it from Audreys in Saville. Here's some pics for you.

I think they are part of Lovin Oven so maybe go to the Lands End, Vanderbilt Mansion or Flowerfield website and there will be a link or a number

OH MY GOD!!
As I was reading this thread, I really wanted to get fh a grooms cake for our rd, and I was thinking of what to get for him....he loves to snowmobile, and I thought that would be cool....
then I get to this post, and it's HIS yellow corvette, the baby that he loves almost as much as me!!!
What are the odds of THAT?!
Thanks for the idea!!!
PERFECT!
