Re: Groom's cake...

Its a cake for the groom that represents something they like usually. For example I am making one for FH having to do with the Yankees. It is usually given at the rehearsal dinner but can be given at the reception also. Its really what you want to do.

Re: Groom's cake...

actually its traditionally done at the reception but recently alot of ppl have been doing it at the rehearsal dinner instead

tradition is that if a single lady put a piece of grooms cake under her pillow she would dream of her future husband...the cake is supposed to be cut at the reception and given to single ladies

it also is a big southern tradition, usually made with velvet cake

nowadays it usually is a surprise to FH and it usually is a cake to represent a hobby of his or something to do with him

im doing it at the reception anduhmmm you can't just estimate a price...it depends on what you get...whether you get butter cream or fondant, fondant will be ALOT more money...depends on how big a cake you get

I think it is mostly a southern tradition, but it is getting more and more popular elsewhere.

its def a good way to have 2 different flavors for cake when you can't decide on one! :)

NO! a lot of people don't do a groom's cake.

it's your wedding... it's not BAD to leave out ANYTHING you don't like.

you know??
