So, how many of you are going to have a groom's cake?
At your rehearsal dinner or at the reception?
Do you have a bakery in mind?
And what are you going to do?

Re: Grooms Cake
im having a grooms cake, but at the wedding i think because my fh only eats dark chocolate with chocolate icing on his cakes. hes very picky. and i personally am not a fan, and didnt want a chocolate wedding cake. so we're compromising, i can pick out whatever type of wedding cake i want, as long as he gets a chocolate cake with chocolate icing.
my neighbor is going to make mine though because she makes AMAZING cakes, she really should open up a bakery. theyre delicious! plus it will save us a ton which is always a plus!
I think I'll have one at the rehesheral dinner. Not sure if I should go sports or fireman theme? I have time to think.

Re: Grooms Cake
i don't think we're going to do one unless we can't do an ice cream cake... then it'll be a regular cake for everyone :( and an ice cream cake for us.

Re: Grooms Cake
I am! I called up a bakery my sister used. I am getting a cake shaped as Yankee stadium! I called a few different people and the cheapest I was quoted was 200 at Audreys in Oakdale

Re: Grooms Cake
My family has never even heard of a groom's cake and neither have I until LIW. I will probably just have FMIL make her cheesecake which FH loves and doesn't get very often. It will probably be for dessert at or after the RD.

Re: Grooms Cake
I really want to do one, but FH has said many times that he does not want one ( I don't know why) so I guess we won't be having one.

Re: Grooms Cake
I made my sister's groom's cake for her husband... it was a roulette wheel. It came out awesome. For FH, I'm planning on making a Yankee Stadium cake. How I'll hide it from him is another story...
