grooms cake

is anyone going to get a grooms cake?
do you have an idea of what you would want it to look like?
will it be a surprise?

I haven't come to a decision yet but I'm going to get it in the design of something he really likes.
He's a big fan of the band HIM so I was thinking of maybe trying to get the cake in the shape of the heartagram (or at least have it decorated with it).

Only I'm going to give him the grooms cake at our rehersal dinner. I don't see a need for 2 cakes at the wedding on top of my chocolate fountain & the bakery cookies.

I'm still debating about this. If I do do it, it would be a basketball with the Knicks logo on it bc he is a huge fan.

Opera, I do like that idea of giving it at the rehearsal dinner instead! Seems to make more sense in my situation also with all the desserts we're having.

I might do it, i'm still not sure about it. If i do it, it will be a replica of his race car, but i'm not sure just yet, because i'm not sure how i'm doing my rehearsal dinner as of yet-it might be kind of informal at the house-maybe a new years dinner party type of thing

i was actually very excited about this idea. i was going to have a cake of his world of warcraft character made. especially since he became an officer. however he has since stopped playing so my idea went up in smoke.
when we were watching Ace of Cakes one night, they made a grooms cake & he was like what the hell is that for, thats so stupid. but i was thinking of doing it at the rehearsal dinner as well.

I'm still on the fence about this. We're not having a rehearsal dinner since we don't have a bridal party and like others have said that's just a lot of cake on the wedding day. If I did do it, it would have to be Yankees oriented.

I want to do it, and present it to him at the RD, depending on the cost. FH is a big sports fan (Mets, Islanders, Giants) so i might get him a Mr. Met cake. I saw someone posted on here a Mr. Met Grooms Cake they had made that said 'heres to an AMAZIN life together' and i LOVED it (cuz im a Met fan too!).

I wanted to do it. But I will have to see if I will closer to out date so I can see if I have money for it.

I was thinking of Yankees Stadium becuase that is where we got engaged and FH jokes and says he wants a Yankee Wedding cake.

If I do it, it will be a surprise for him.

I'm doing one too, at the rehearsal dinner. I think it's going to be of a mustang (car), he's mildly obsessed and his old mustang is his baby. I'd like to get little figurines of me, him and the dog sitting in it if possible. This will be my secret project!

Re: grooms cake

I am doing a groom cake shape as an airplane since my FH is a pilot, I want it to be a surprise but I think he knows he is getting one because my sister in law gave my brother one and now i think he expects it

Re: grooms cake

we are having so much food at our wedding, that i dont think we need another cake. Plus FH HATES sweets. So i dont think he would really want one.
