Is anyone getting a groom's cake? I'm leaning towards getting one. If you are, what bakery are you using?

I am searching for one that has a design of a Ham Radio on it..FH is really big into it..can anyone recommend a bakery that would custom design a groom's cake that is geared for a ham radio lover?

Re: Groom's cake
I started looking into it and gave up for now. I may do Cake by Mona....she gave me a quote of $250 for a White Sox logo cake for 25 people.
Not sure yet!

Re: Groom's cake
I am getting one. One of the parents of my students is a cake maker. She has been on Food network a bunch of times, so she is making me one. I'll ask her if I can post her info here for you guys. She is awesome! I love it when we have parties cause she makes me something special!

Re: Groom's cake
I believe i am going to use my girlfriend who basically took her cake experiance and just started making them out of her house. She is amazing. But she helped me realize too, if i went with a bakery, to help cut costs tell them to make the bottom layer of my cake a dumie.. There is no way we are going to eat both cakes, and its really more of the display, but at the same time the top cake will serve a small group.

Re: Groom's cake
i'm getting one for the FH for our reception dinner. He's all about his 'toys' and his favorite one is xbox 360. Soooo how appropriate for him to have an xbox cake LOL
