I know it varies from cake to cake and design, but can anyone provide pricing on what they have paid/were quoted for their groom's cake? TIA!

Re: Groom's Cake?
from what the other LIW girls have told me, it's between $100 - $200, depending on how intricate the design is.

Re: Groom's Cake?
all i got DH was a small round chocolate cake and they drew a picture of a nascar car on top of it! it came out really good but was on the lower scale of some ive seen...mine cost $50
if i wanted a car shaped sheet cake it would have been $260
and if i got the 3d car with fondant it would have cost $560!!!
i didnt shop around much because i thought it was easiest if the bakery providing my wedding cake made the grooms cake that way it would be delivered with my wedding cake.
it really all depends on what you want.

Re: Groom's Cake?
I had a cake in the shape of a Bass Fish. I paid $160 for my cake and that included delivery. I requested a cake for approximate 20 people but it looked like it could feed more than that. FM if you want more info. HTH

A lot of people do the grooms cake for the rehearsal dinner. So a) it becomes dessert for rehearsal dinner b) it's just a nice way to add something else to the wedding that is about your fiance. Because we all know the wedding for most couples end up being way more than bride's taste than the grooms.
I really want to have a groom's cake for the FI to surprise him. It'll be in the shape of a NFL helmet of our team, throwback style. Our throwback colors even match our wedding colors. FI's a huge fan of our team, he's been a fan since he was a little boy and we have had season tickets for 3 years so it's a big part of us as well. And he'll just love that I threw in something football! Hahha. Anyway, I'm still deciding because a) he is just not a big sweets fan so it'll be more about the design/shape of it. b) the bakers that I've found to my liking and accuracy of a helmet cake are around $500 which is a tad more than I budgeted for a Grooms Cake.

It's something for the groom - I'm probably getting it.
