Anyone else doing one? If so, are you having it at the reception or rehearsal dinner and where are you getting it from? I'm working with Sherry from a Cake in Time. She's a doll.

I am, I'm going to do it at the RD. I'm using The Sweet Peace in Lynbrook, I went to HS with the owner and she is amazing. I would highly recommend her

Re: Groom's Cake
I am doing a surprise groom's cake for FH and I plan to do it at the RH. Haven't decided yet if I want the cake to already be out with our wedding cake or have them bring it out after we cut our wedding cake. I'm leaning towards leaving it out with the wedding cake.
ETA: I am going to see if the bakery doing our wedding cake (Black Forest) can also do the groom's cake. Hopefully they can and give me a good quote.

I hadn't thought about when we're going to show the cake...that's food for though (no pun intended)t! That'd be so great if you could get it from the same bakery as the wedding cake.

Re: Groom's Cake
Ive gone back and forth with this. if i do it before of after the day of the wedding, i am going to have it done by a friend who bakes cakes (amazing ones)
but if i do it day of wedding, you have to get an insured vendor so id have to get from outside source
when do most people do grooms cakes?
I want to do a mets themed ones!

I'm not sure! I think a lot of folks do it at the rehearsal dinner. I was going to do that but FMIL suggested I do it at the reception so more people would see it. I'm going to do a wrestling/met themed cake and try to make it really funny because FH looooooves WWE.
