Has anyone priced these at all? I'm thinking of getting FH a New York Islanders cake since he's a hugeee fan. I was wondering what the normal price is for these? Thanks ladies!

Re: Groom's Cake
It honestly depends on how big or small you want to go. Its entirely up to you.
I am getting my FH a cake for the RD as part of his gift. Its a Mets Homerun apple coming out of a top hat. I am getting it from Cake Alchemy in NYC and its $450. Some cakes run a lot cheaper though, really depends on where you go.
Price it out and do whats in your price range :)

Re: Groom's Cake
I got DH's groom's cake from Black Forest Bakery (same bakery our wedding cake was from). It was SOO delicious and looked exactly like the sample picture I gave her. It was a nice size cake (I believe she said it would be 35 people) and cost $115 total (that included the delivery).
Here is the sample pic:
And here is the actual cake:

Re: Groom's Cake
It really depends on the level of detail required and difficulty in making it. The one I got FH is very detailed and requires a lot of sculpting. I got it through the bakery our RH uses and it was $400.

Re: Groom's Cake
i got a mr. met cake. in icecream, since thats DH's fave. $85! a HS friend is a baker on the side. she rocks. let me know if you need the info. it was enough to feed 40 and have leftovers!
I'm using A cake in time in Mt. Sinai.I paid 475 with delivery , mine is really detailed so I'm sure It would be less for something simpler.

I'm thinking of giving it to him at the RD. I've never seen this at a wedding either but I know a lot of people have it set up next to the wedding cake.
