You dont have to but, my FH is obsessed with the Eagles so I'm just doing it as a surprise for him. I am looking at Dortoni's bakery in levitown and Audrey's in West Sayville, they both have good reviews on this site for grooms cake.

You definitely do not have to get one. But if you'd like to get one but are concerned it may go to waste at your actual wedding day, consider presenting it to him at the rehearsal dinner.

I wasn't going to do one - after seeing how much the amazing bakers cost. I did a few google searches and found some local celebrities and bakers & the price isn't bad at all. I'm not going to do it for him at the wedding though - i'm going to have it for him at the rehearsal dinner - to keep the size down and the price more reasonable.
My FH & I are heavy into sports, so i'm doing a Steelers jersey with a Yankees hat laying on top of it & a Nets basketball next to it.
I was quoted between 150 & 200 by three different bakers!

if u're having a viennese i definetly don't think u need one...i've been to weddings where if they're just having a wedding cake, they'll have a grooms cake as well....i actually think it's more common to have one at ur rehearsal dinner. I wanted to get one SO bad for my hubby but didn't end up getting it because we were dirt broke by the time the wedding came & it was a big extra expense. if u're thinking of doing it, i'd take care of it now that way u dont have to worry about it later on... but it really is a personal choice...if u wanna do it for ur FH then go for it and if not - then it's really no biggy

of course you don't need one.... it's a southern tradition that only recently has been gaining in popularity outside of the south.

They are not NEEDED!!!! But a lot of girls do one, usually at the rehersal dinner. Create-a-cake and Audreys do custom cakes.
