does anyone have a groom cake price quote? i'm thinking of having one made for FH as a surprise ... it would probably be music-related (guitar / microphone / music note) ... it's also part of his bday gift (we're getting married 3 days after his bday)

are they really THAT expensive! Thats crazy. I think if I were you I would go around getting quotes for a 'birthday' cake instead of a 'grooms' cake. You may find it cheaper.

There is an 09 bride who recently posted on the newlywed board that she does cakes. She just did an awesome Iphone cake. She has a website, not sure what she would charge, but for a fellow LIW bride I'm sure she could do something. Let me see if I can find the link to the post........
That Mr. Met cake is perfect! I need to call Sweet Karma, that is exactly what I want to get FH. He LOVES the Mets and has a Mr. Met tattoo on his shoulder, haha and the price is great.

My husband got a groom's cake done at Cakes By Mona. She does awesome work. I guess it would depend how large you want it. We spent $400 on ours but it looked and tasted amazing. There's a guitar done on her website too!
