Groom's cake quote - is this fair?

Original post by margaritav

Hi girls,

I requested a quote for a groom's cake from Cakes by Mona and I am trying to figure out if it is reasonable. I am want a recreation of my fiance's car, a 1983 Firebird Trans Am (aka KITT / the Knight Rider car... yeah, he actually has that) and maybe some small details of other stuff that defines him in the corners (a little helicopter, Mets logo, our dog, a drumset).

Mona quoted me $500 for a cake that will feed 30 people and another $200 for the other small details. Do you guys think this is reasonable? What quotes have you been getting?

Thanks!!!
