I'm not sure if I'm going to get one. If I do it will be at the RD.

I think it's a waste of money unless you can really afford it! (just my opinion)

Re: Grooms cake (with poll!!)
We're having a cake at the RD, but not the groom's cake. We are doing the groom's cake at the RH. I got it for 'free' when I booked Cakes by Jay because I had a card from Fox Hollow

Re: Grooms cake (with poll!!)
I had mine at the RH. I figured if I as paying for it and the design of it was so cool I might as well display it where the most people will see it. A lot of my guests had never seen a groom's cake before so they loved it. I had it displayed at the RH and then too it back to the hotel with me and we served it the next day at the brunch.

Re: Grooms cake (with poll!!)
I think an 'occasion' cake comes with our RD menu, so I guess we can call that the Grooms Cake.... I think I'd like to get one thats themed for FH though. Any good recommendations on where to get a cake near Farmingdale?

Re: Grooms cake (with poll!!)
I have a little question-- I am not too familiar with them-- i know the grooms cake is suppose to be something that is meaningful to the fh--- can i hear some ideas-- and i see that people mostly have it at the RD--- why?
thanks ladies

Re: Grooms cake (with poll!!)
I'm having mine at the RD just because I don't want it at the wedding because that 's what the wedding cake is for. I also didn't want to have a grooms cake period but that's all that FH talks about. So I'm going to surprise him at the RD. I think i'm going to get a poker themed cake b/c he likes to play poker with my family.

Re: Grooms cake (with poll!!)
I am surprising FH with one at the RH (I want everyone to be able to see it). I am going to take pics of our boat (that he is obsessed with) and have one made of it.

My FH doesn't eat cake...so I'd be wasting my money.
