I need a bakery and I need to know how much they usually cost. I want to give it to him at the rehersal dinner. so like 80 people...so not a big cake...but a nice size.

in LI audreys does real nice grooms cake, they do good work with fondant...Fondant is about $6-8 a slice normally...in LI i found a few places for $4.50-5 a slice but not sure if audreys is in that range or in the $6-8 a slice

I was just going to say Audrey's!!! THat is where davenjess got her grooms cakes from. She had two at the RD and one at the reception. They were beautiful!
Definetly Audrey's- I had them do a cake for FH at the Engagement party and it was awesome (and really yummy too)

i can recommend places in the city but most you have to book 6 months in advance

i just got off the phone with Liz from Audreys...she is so nice! OMG And the cake is not that expensive. Like 150! (im planning to give it to him at the rehersal dinner...)

LIke a month! How many people is yours for? I think it depends on that as well. Ask for Liz...She is sooo nice!!!!
eta: delivery is really expensive....so i am planning to pick it up.

well since its the grooms cake then i dont have to make it for as many guests that we'll have, ill do half of our guests if anything...i wont even care about that i think, ill just tell them what size i want it and to go by that i guess. I am doing it at the wedding so we'll also have our wedding cake
