Hey Everyone, my FMIL said she would pay for whatever the grooms' parents traditionally pay for, but I don't know what that is? Does anyone out there know?

tell her everything actually traditiionally they dont pay for like ANYTHING! so i dont think it would be fair for her to go by that.

Wow thats nice of them! FHs parents are going the traditional route and not helping out whatsoever.

We're covering flowers, music, and photo/video with what my folks gave us for the party. that was what my mom told us was 'traditional'. But really, I think it varies, I've seen the range from a 50/50 split to bride's fam paying for everying to the bride and groom paying for everything, so be mindful that there is a range.

Rehearsal dinner Their own wedding attire Travel costs and housing Wedding gift to couple Any other costs they may volunteer to pay for
Traditionally the Groom's parents pay for the rehearsal dinner. I think there are a few other things listed in my bridal planner too, can't remember them.

This is what I've read in bridal magazines:
pay for rehearsal dinner
pay for bar (alcohol) at reception
Anything else is extra.

Traditionally, they paid for the RD and I think a few other things - possibly even the HM.
When my brothers got married, my parents paid for the RD, the band, and I think also gave some additional money toward the wedding...

My in-laws also read that they are traditionally responsible for the bride's bouquet and the groomsman's flowers. I've seen that on a few websites also. We didn't have them pay for those though because they're not from NY and would have been absolutely shocked at the cost of my bouquet. I wanted to avoid that discomfort!

i know traditionally the grooms parents pay for the e-party (if you choose to have one) and the RD - - i guess my FMIL never got the memo on that one

Yes, traditionally the BRIDES parents pay for the e-party. The groom's parents pay for the RD.

my in laws paid for :
Photographer Videographer Limos Flowers Band and RD
Brother in law (Best Man) Paid for the Open Bar Bill at the RD
this may not be traditional... but maybe you can suggest some of the vendors
