I'm curious to what kinds of rings some of your grooms got for their wedding. FH will probably wear his ring, but he has never really worn jewelry before so I'm a little weary about spending a lot of money on a gold or platinum ring for him. I'm seeing a lot of cobalt and other types of metals being used that are more inexpensive. Anyone have feedback on these other metals? Or is gold or platinum the way to go? Thanks!

I have the same problem with my fiance, so we bought a titanium ring, and plus he goes to the gym so it wont get scratch...titanium are stronger than gold or platinum...ideal for guys i think.

We're going to do titanium as well. He likes the black look, too.

Mine never wore jewelry before so he got some sort of metal alloy ring (I forget exactly what) that was inexpensive and feels really light on his finger. We went to Diamond Roof and they gave him many options and explained the pros/cons.

FH got a two tone gold ring. He wanted it to look similar to mine, I got yellow gold with chanel set diamonds. It mirrors mine without being girly looking. Went to Ronie in the tri county flea market. Got a great deal.

The problem with the metals is that they can't be sized. We looked into tungsten and cobolt but are wary since they have to fit perfectly.

fh went with tungsten bc he loved the black one they had but also he works with his hands all the time and they told us tungsten will shatter if it gets caught on something. My cousin had his finger ripped off by his wedding band so once we found out tungsten shatters, we were sold on it.

this! my husband went through 2 size changes before the wedding. and he could probably get it resized again! his hands must swell with the weather, etc. he's had a difference of 4 sizes smaller from when we first started looking for bands. but im sentimental, and now he has to keep the one we were married with.

Thanks everyone! We're going to go to the jewelry store tomorrow for him to try on some rings that he picked out online (2 were white gold ranging from $1500-2500 and the other was a cobalt ring that was only $320). We'll see what happens!

We got him tungsten carbide. They said it is the strongest and most scratch resistant. A good day to day ring.
