Groomsman Pissed because we asked him to be an usher as well.....

UGH! We had to ask a groomsman to be an usher because one of our ushers works for an airline and can't get the time off for the wedding...... now our groomsman is pissy because we asked if he could usher for 30 minutes! I don't think we're being unfair to ask him, are we???

IMO ushers aren't necessary, so we're not having any.

Not unfair AT ALL!!! In fact, nowadays the groomsmen ARE the ushers!!!

I would say no. We don't have any ushers so the one and only groomsman is doing it all! He didn't complain one bit.

I always thought the groomsmen were the ushers. The guys have to be at the church at least 30 mins beforehand...what else is he going to do?
When Fh was a groomsmen last summer I went to the church early with them. He escorted people in (but most people seat themselves) and gave out programs and then lined up with more than enough time.

We were going to have some of the groomsman be ushers in the beginning, but then decided we wanted FH's cousin and half brother included, so they were ushers. But his cousin has to work and can't attend the wedding ......... so we asked one of the groomsman.

I just don't understand why he's being all pissy about this.......ugh!

I kinda thought groomsmen were the ushers. We're having such a small wedding we're not having any. I should find someone to hand out programs, though.

Is he eer like this normally or is this unusual behavior for him. Is there anyone else who can do it, that won't act like a baby? It is an honor to be asked to anything for the couple, not a burden. I would just ask someone else and tell him since it seemed to bother him so much you asked someone else!

All our groomsmen and FH are going to be meeters and greeters and helping people find places to sit and such! No big deal... dont' worry about it. If he's that angry, maybe someone else can usher?
