is there a difference between 'groomsmen' and 'ushers'?
i thought they were the same thing, but i read a thread on brides helping brides where a girl was talking about how she had ushers and she had groomsmen, and they were different.
am i the only one who thought they were the same thing??

I thought they were the same thing also but maybe the difference is groomsmen are the male equivalent to bridesmaids and ushers more or less help seat people in the church...maybe

if the gms are already at the altar and the bms walk down alone...the ushers can be the ones sitting ppl...maybe that's how/when they have different roles?
im using gms as the guy version of bms...they will be with fh getting ready...helping him with all his events/planning/whatever...but will ask other ppl not in the bridal party to be ushers and escort guests to their seats.
