Groomsmen vs. Ushers

Groomsmen vs. Ushers

are they the same people, or do you need to have different people be the Ushers?

I thought that the groomsmen will escort certain people (close family) to their seats, and then they will stand up at the altar with the groom.

TIA!

i think you can re-use the groomsmen for this if you want ... but you don't have to.

Just remember if you have groomsmen AND ushers (diff people), you need to give both of them gifts.

Re: Groomsmen vs. Ushers

Our usher was my cousin who is not close enough to DH to be a GM (besides the fact that we already had 9 GMs) but he pretty much made himself a GM anyway. I wouldn't concern myself with ushers too much- most people can find their seats. We left the programs and the ribbon wands out on a table by the front door and most guests took one without prompting since our usher was nowhere to be found.
