SO FH went to the tuxedo shop this weekend...to make another long story short...he wants the groomsmen's vest to match the girls dresses, the woman at the place basically said it was going to be more work for them to get the color vest that we will need...she Suggested that we have eveyont in all BLACK, that is not what the groom wants Hellooooo Everyone always says it your day and what ever the bride wants give it to her WELL Hello that also holds for the Groom excpecialy when he is paying for everything...well he left, we was basically there just to get the men measured and said he will come back another time to go over the colors. I told him later that night that he went GROOMZILLA on that ladie.
has anyone elses FH had a Groomsilla attack

Re: Groomzilla ???
Heheh, that's a cute story. No, my FH hasn't gone groomzilla...he's not into details that much. But sometimes he'll surprise me and I'll say an idea for a DIY project, and he'll be like 'are you sure? I don't know if that will look right?' Or, 'Are you sure about that paint? Isn't that color too dark?' He helps when he can, it's cute

I would have reacted the same way as your FI. What the woman is telling you is BULL.
I'm proud of your FH for going 'groomzilla' on her! Now go hug your man!

Re: Groomzilla ???
My FH hasn't yet, but his ex best friend did (hence the ex best friend) he was totally overbearing on FH who was suppose to be his best name, and told him he didn't think he could perform his duties as best man with me around (this guy introduced us) he gave fh a list of like 50 people in alphabetical order who he expected invited to the bachelor party and he kept hounding fh about what he was doing about the bachelor party and he didn't feel fh was doing enough. It was insane.

Re: Groomzilla ???
My FH is being a groomzilla in one dept. - the photo/video. He won't be having pictures taken at home so he wants the photographer to go to the church one hour before the ceremony and snap pics with his family and ushers which is fine but then this morning he tells me he also wants the videographer to be there when he gets out of the limo with his guys because he saw it on a wedding tape and he wants to have that footage too lol it's no big deal I just thought it was funny how he's making demands...thats my department

Re: Groomzilla ???
that's a funny story...
my fh has not had a major groomzilla episode yet but i could see him doing that b/c he is very involved and has no problem telling someone when he is not pleased. recently, his cousin (who likes to say whatever he wants and everyone lets him get away with it) made a remark that i would be with him if i had met him first...*alcohol talking? probably... BIG mistake? definitely* and he's notorious for saying things like this--that he is better in bed, i mean bad stuff but never where my FH could actually hear it himself. well, he said this at a family party in front of quite a few people and my FH. So my FH pulled him aside and pretty much told him that if he ever made another gesture like that toward me again or insulted him like that again he would not only be out of the wedding party but out of my FH's life! FH told him that everything up to that point was heresay from others and that he was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he wasn't like that b/c they are first cousins but he said that he was obviously mistaken. YIKES! i totally understand why FH is upset and I feel bad for him. Of course this all started months after we already asked him to be in the wedding party so it's too late for him not to be-- unless he really screws up again which i would rather him not and be in the wedding party--it would be much easier on everyone that way! Let's hope he behaves!

Re: Groomzilla ???
FH is now on the third design of our wedding website.
His other (and certainly much bigger) groomzilla moment was when I brought him to see sample CP at florist. Huge argument ensued because it had too much green for my taste and he thought it was beautiful and I was crazy for rejecting any part of it.
ETA: The line they gave him at tux shop is total BS. FH's guys are matching our girls dresses.

Re: Groomzilla ???
FH pratically made a threat at our florist vendor... I was so embarrassed. He told him if any vendor screw up that day there is going to be serious problems!!
I was like what are we the 'Sopranos'?

Good! It's not a very uncommon request for the vests/ties/etc to match the BM's. They can get VERY VERY VERY close, almost exact, and it won't cause the tuxedo shop to spend any extra money or energy. 99% of the time, they don't keep the tuxes in stock at the store, so they'll have to outsource anyway.
If you have any more questions, please let me know. We reserved our tuxes w/a friend of ours that has a store in Bklyn and LI and he taught us the ins and outs.

we know they can not get exact exact but we will bring in a swatch to match it as close as we can... People are just lazy !!!!!!!!!!!!
