So, I have this cousin (actually our parents our friends but we call one another cousins) who's very fashionable and so when it came to wedding planning she was one of the first people I asked for help. One day while looking at BM dresses with her she says 'hey, I am in the wedding right?'
I had be toying with the idea of making her a hostess but caught off guard I said yes...
After this FH asked me to include his sister, who I've never even met or talked to in the BP . but I did and now he wants me to include his cousin . I told him I refuse and now he's upset.
1- Am I stuck with my 'cousin' in the BP? 2- Do I add his family members or no?

I think you are stuck with your cousin but FH should understand you not wanting people you don't know. Can they do readings instead?

Yea, i'd say you're stuck with your cousin... her question 'i'm in the wedding, right?' implies the bridal party so i'd assume she was asking you if she was a bridesmaid... and since you said yes, my opinion is that you should have her in it.... How big is your bridal party so far? if it's big, FH should understand that you don't want to add more people.... JMO

i agree with the other girls that you should have your cousin in the bridal party since you already told her yes.
with fh's family...i kinda think if its really important to him to have them in the party then you should include them. plus its an opportunity for you to become closer with his sister and cousin since they will now be your family.

Re: Growing BP ugh...
honestly if someone asked me to look at bm dresses with them id assume i was a bm, so yeah i think youre stuck with her
as far as the cousin goes i guess it depends how close you or fh are with her, th eonly family member i have from fh's side is my fsil. Did you make any request for groomsmen? if not maybe you should remind him of this, and also let him know that you have to buy gifts for all these people

For your cousin, I would say yes because you already told her.
For FH's family, if it's really that important to him, adding 1 more person will probably not hurt. Maybe suggest them doing a reading.

That was his argument but my thing they can participate in so many other ways. I just don't understand why I need 7 women in my BP. I don't know, it just bothers me to have two women I don't know at all on my side of the BP....

As for your cousin, I think you're stuck now.
As for FH's family, I do think his sister should be in the BP. My FSIL is one of my BM's, but then again, she and I are really close. But none of FH's cousins are BM's. There are a few that he chose as GM's, but none of his female cousins are in the wedding party.

Didn't make request for GM but that's a great idea and my sentiments exactly regarding the gifts...I think I'll allow FSIL but definitely not his cousin.
