grrr

so FH had, oh about 10 months, to come up with addresses for his friends and coworkers for the invites... of course he waited until the last possible second, and now we get 2 of the invites back in the mail because - they are the wrong addresses! super!!
then we had a last minute add on couple, that FH's parents thought we should invite - but FH's mom was sure that it would be clear that they are invited without their kids. the invite was addressed to 'mr & mrs so and so'. not 'and family'. so what do they do? respond for 4.
um... well, 2 of you were invited... so how on earth do you respond for double that?
people bewilder me.

that stinks. sorta on/off the topic - but what is the proper thing to do in a situation like that?

do you just suck it up and let the 2 extra people come? or call them and say something?

i would call them up and say, 'I'm sorry, but due to budget & size restraints, we can not include your children.'

it's not rude at all---cause they were rude in the first place for adding 2 ppl!!

oh we are SO not sucking it up! LOL first off, we are not even close with these people... FH and FIL's don't really like them, it was more out of obligation. personally, FH and i don't give a rat's youknowwhat about offending them. we're offended that they would just ASSUME they can bring their kids to a wedding when the invitation clearly stated 'mr & mrs'.
plus, we are not having children at the wedding except the 3 (my 2 neices and nephew) that are IN the wedding party. end of story. LOL, i'm so understanding

It never fails... there is always one in the bunch!!!
I would just give them a call.. and let them know that only 2 were invited.... the worst they can say is that they are unable to attend ...... oh well....

lol - good for you!!! i was just wondering b/c i can completely see myself getting responses from people saying they are bringing their kids, their kids best friends, their aunt and uncle, and the next door neighbor. fh and i are both hispanic and this is very common (no offense to the other latinas on the board). we luv to party and figure everyone else should be able to party too. it happend at my sweet 16. lmao.

heheh machine gun kitty...wish he was around to bust a few doors down for me when I had my rsvp woes....

RSVPS can be so much fun....and yet a whole bag of tricks at the same time. All I can say is: Good luck!

I had a similar problem with the kid thing...just say no! Only kids I'm having are in the bridal party or my direct cousins. It was hard, but you gotta put your foot down, you can only fit so many people!

I would call and tell them that your budget only allows for the two of them.
