I know you have all heard this vent before, but it's my turn and I'm so annoyed.

1. I pay more than I want for invites, but love them, so who cares...
2. I spend a ton of money on postage, including the response envelopes...
3. Our response date is in 2 days, and still have at least 20 outstanding!
4. I'm sitting here wondering - WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! Could I make it any easier for them?

Thank you for that VENT POST. My date as you know is a week before yours and we still have 11 people who have not responded. I want to say they are no longer invited, don't even bother to show up. If you are still deciding then I don't want you there. This is not that difficult. Just PUT THE RESPONSE CARD IN THE MAILBOX!!! We did not have ANY responses today. And.... some of the people said they sent it last week and they LIED because I don't see the cards!!!! Thanks Marnles you allowed me to have the same vent!!!!

From the other post that I've read, it seems to be common, you'll work through it,and it will turn out fine !

my wedding was October 26 and I still have about 8 people who have not rsvp'ed by card or verbally!

We are 12/15 and our response date was 11/7. We still have 8 people who have not responded at all yet, even after numerous phone call attempts by Mark's mother (I am glad it was not my side). I did call my uncle on 11/12 and he said something about deciding this week, HELLO-- You have had the past month + to decide-- give me a break. One of his comments was 'well it's a Sunday night, and Monday is a work day'-- o.k. you are like 80 and work for yourself, decide to take the day off or not, if not that's fine, just make a da** decision already!! We ended up getting a flood of them back the day of the deadline and up to 2 days after, so I am sure you will get flooded as well.

bridetobe - I can not believe the wedding has come and gone and you still ahve not heard from some people--- what nerve !!

Believe me, I am not thriving on other's misery, but I have to tell you, I'm just glad I'm not alone. The funniest story was one of my FHs friends (who's my friend too now, but you know what I mean)...

I see her about a week ago and say 'So are you coming to the wedding or what (cause I knew she was)', and she's like 'yeah, do I need to send that 'thingy' back'. So I say, well, that's why we put it in the invitation! It helps to keep us organized. So she says 'Well, I'm just too lazy to send it out'...so I responded 'I wouldn't use the adjective lazy, I think pathetic is more like it - all you have to do is write a check mark and your name, then drop it in the mail - ooooooo, painful isn't it'. So she says, 'Well then I have to go to the post office'...'I'm like 'hellooooo BRAIN SURGEON...I already put the freakin' stamp on it, you can just leave it sticking out of the mailbox at your house - you don't even have to get dressed to do it!!!!!'.
The funniest part is - I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED IT!!!!

I wish I could just say those who haven't responded aren't invited anymore, but what if they happen to show up???

Anyway, as always ladies, thanks for listening and sharing my vent!!

OMG - the NERVE of some people !!!!!!!!

I always send mine back on time, except once, when this friend of mine was gettting married, and I must've been on the B list, b/c I received my invitation AFTER the RSVP due date (2 weeks before the wedding) !!!!!!!!!!!

I was so p'd off I almost didnt send it back, but I did end up sending mine the week of the wedding saying WILL NOT ATTEND.

So as long as you're not like my friend Marni, there is NO reason you shouldn't be getting them back, people are sooo rude

My RSVP date is Friday and we are still waiting for people to respond. I don't know why it is so difficult.

I am trying not to stress over it, but it helps to know someone knows how I feel!

I've been having the same exact problem ... and it always seems to be FAMILY members. Our response date is Mon. and we're waiting on quite a few people. Some of them are FH's cousins who have 3 girls ... all married ... so three weddings, then the babies ... christenings, 1st b-day's etc. We've been at EVERYTHING ... then my FH says that they may even be so rude as to NOT COME WITH A GIFT! IF THEY DO SHOW UP!!!

Talk about nerve! They are from Staten Island sooooo... you know how it goes ... 'It's so far .... ' ' it's right at Christmas time ... ' 'it's hard w/the kids...' blah, blah, blah ...

I'm so annoyed by this behavior ... meanwhile we schlep all the way there ... same distance ... right? I told him, that if they pull a stunt like this they can forget seeing me or my kids for anything!!

We figured that we'd put them as a no, give a headcount w/o them, then if they call later on, we can always add them. I'm not even going to leave them a spot @ the table if I don't get it by that time. They can sit next to the speakers at the 'odds & ends' table!
