GRRR Favors

I'm having such a hard time with favors. I really want to keep this cost low, but FH doesn't want anything food related (he's not opposed to alcohol though). I don't want something ordinary (like wine stoppers, shot glasses, etc.)

I was originally thinking of doing some sort of seed kit, but I don't want to just give seeds and adding a pot and everything else is proving to be much more expensive than I thought.

Is anyone doing anything not food related, but very unique?

I'm doing food favors but what about custom coasters? I remember my sister did custom coasters and they were cheap, practical, and could be alcohol related.

Why is he against food? I think those are the best favors, and the kind that are least likely to be left behind! Wine is always an awesome favor if he isn't opposed to alcohol. I've been to weddings with custom labels on the bottles and it's super cute!

GRRR Favors

I'm doing votive candles. Yankee candle has their semi-annual sales and I was able to get my votive candles for 0.50. I then went on Oriental Trading and purchased votive holders with do it yourself stickers that you can personalize and boxes to put them in. I purchased the votive holders with stickers by the dozen so for me it was cost effective. I'm lucky my girls are creative and artsy so each couple is getting a candle with a votive holder. I bought nice ribbon to tie up the boxes and added a little double heart charm to go with it. Since my colors are purple and silver I bought lavendar and lavendar vanilla scent candles and the spare bedroom in the apartment smells delicious. Lol

Lol. Pretty cool. I just thought it was something different and the votive holder can be reused. :)

GRRR Favors

I'm doing teacups (that i've been thrifting and yard-sale hunting for since we got engaged) with two tea bags - one of each of our favorite teas, with personalized tags that I'm making myself. It'll only be like 3.oo or so a person.

A friend of mine did a sunflower seeds. She put them all in cute little bottles with ribbons and growing instructions. It was really nice because everyone kept sending her pictures of them growing a year later.

It would be so much easier if they had edible candles. That way you have a happy medium. Lol

GRRR Favors

We did this as our favor: https://www.etsy.com/listing/113680246/unique-party-favors-decorations-flower?ref=shop_home_active_19

We chose little red heart shaped seeds and clear boxes & tiffany blue ribbon. Putting together the favors was tedious (I actually put them all together during Hurricane Sandy when we lost electricity... so it kept me busy!)
The seller, naturefavors was wonderful to deal with and super fast with shipping. Our guests loved that they were a unique favor! :)

Thank you all!!! FH and I have been scouring Pinterest and sites all day trying to find something we both like and we decided on doing a donation in lieu of favors. We will inform our guests with plantable seed paper.

GRRR Favors

I plan to take my centerpieces, which will be succulents in pails, and give those as my favors. For my out of town guests, I will find a way for them to pack it nice (I've looked into how people pack plants on flights).

GRRR Favors

It could be that once the food is gone, it's gone and there is nothing that anyone gets to keep and use later.

Check my pics - We bought wooden boxes, stamped a design on top, heat set it with a hair dryer and stamped our names and date on the bottom heat setting that as well. We stained and polyurethaned it and put teas inside. 5 flavors that we liked best. We figured this way people could enjoy the tea now and have a nice box for jewelry or as a catch all that was mostly made by us. We finished it by tying a ribbon around it in one of our colors - green.

Good Luck and remember to enjoy the process as it is just the journey you go on to get to your destination of becoming husband and wife.
