so i told u all that my friend who i know work/talk to online is coming from upstate so we can go out to dinner tonite, well since hes taking the train in and we will b done in the city late i told him he can maybe crash on my couch or he is gonna sleep at his cousins...so since he might b here saturday we planned to also go to this show on saturday..so i finally have plans and im so excited!!!!
..and my f'ing phone rings just now and its 'the date' asking if im free for dinner tomorrow nite cause he just found out work is cancelled...now mind u i cant tell him i kinda have another date so i just said my friend was visitng for the weeknd so i cant get together till next week..
i m so pissed b/c i of course wanna c 'the date' but i think its def, good that i already had plans being its such last minute planning, plus i also wanna go out with this new guy im chatting with...!!! y does it always happen that way, feast or famine grrr....GRRR.....
any comments?

Dont be annoyed...I would have a big smile on my face now if I was you....The date has been making you wait for some time now...I am glad that he now knows that you arent sitting by the phone waiting for his phone call. I want you to go out tonight with your friend and have an excellent time. Dont think about the date, and dont think about anything bad happening, or the future....Basically dont think at all...Just enjoy yourself. You deserve this. here are your two scenarios
you'll go out with the new guy tonight, and who knows, it may work out and you can reschedule with the other guy.
if you blow your friend off and go out with the date, you'll annoy your friend and hurt your chances. Plus, who knows when the date will call again after this well.

When was the last time you spoke to the 'date' ..I think it is great, you do not want to be so available because his plans changed. make him realize you have a life and you are continuing to live it. Who know you may connect w/ the new date and it will all work out for the best. good luck!

This is EXCELLENT advice from Scott.. listen to what he says, Michi!
The first 'date' has been blowing you off and has been inconsistent, to put it nicely. I believe this is truly perfect that when he finally DOES call to see you, you legitimately have other plans. Somtimes men need that brutal wakeup call in order to realize you are not sitting around pining for them..
Meanwhile, I think you are going to have a GREAT time with your friend/ potential 'new date' .. i have a good feeling about him. So really just put 'the date' out of your head and have a wonderful weekend w/ you friend
I know you like 'the date' and have been wanting to see him, etc. I know this is why its hard. But really, 'the Date' doensn't deserve ANYTHING from you -- esp does not deserve to have you break your other plans for him!
Make him work for it If he truly wants to see you, he'll 'make more time' in the near future

u guys r all right, i plan on having a ton of fun this weekend! im just annoyed that things like that always happen. but i was glad i really did have plans it wasnt even a lie lol...thanks for all the advice everyone:)
if 'the date' wants to see me i guess he'll hafta call me next week :)

im not sure yet, we r meeting in forest hills so probably someplace over there, nothing overly dressy but it is a first impression since we have never seen each other in person..i have some sexy white capris and a black tank top..maybe ill wear that..cause im saving my 'sexy' shirt for tomorrowwhen we go out to the show
