GRRRR!

GRRRR!

So I THOUGHT we had narrowed our DJ choices down to two... either FM or Body Rock. But tonight FH went to dinner with a group of his friends and one of them works for a DJ company so he was telling him so how we should use them instead.

He'd give us a good deal - he said they'd include the lights and plasma screens and it would be way less $ than both other places... but I'm worried bc they don't have a website or anything, they're more unofficial and get business through word of mouth.

FH has friends who have been to parties they've DJed and said they were really good, but I'm still nervous.

I don't want to book them just to save money, but now I feel like FH feels awkward and kind of stuck in the middle if we don't use them. ARRGHHH!

Re: GRRRR!

can they do a small hsowcase for you so you are a bit more comfy in decision after you see their performance?

I might talk to FH about going with more known DJ but I can understand the caught in the middle feeling too

Re: GRRRR!

booking vendors is scary...especially going with someone that isn't one of the popular ones. But, I'm sure it will be great. Make sure you get everything in writing!

Ahhh If it is an unknown DJ I would be nervous too, music is so important. Is their anyway you can see them DJ.

i know it's awkward, but that still wouldn't be enough to make me agree to book them. if they're the best option, then great. otherwise, FH should find a way to break the news. JMO

I am in a VERY similar situation. I have a friend who owns DJ company and I did use him for the eparty and he was really good but he will be a guest at my wedding and he will not be the one DJing so I am kinda nervous. I told him I would price out a few DJ's and he could bid for the business as well it's just a tough position to be in.

That stinks ask to see them in action & then let them know you are looking at other DJ's as well. Be honest its teh only way to go!

Yeah, his friend would just be invited as a guest. I don't think his friend actually Djs, he might just be in charge of the money aspect.

Yeah, his friend won't be the DJ either, it's someone else.

He said they don't have any weddings coming up (which worries me too) but we can see pics if we want. I'm like HOW ARE PICS SUPPOSED TO HELP ME DECIDE??? lol

Re: GRRRR!

i met with my Dj and the office was very professional and so were all the people that work there but they are not a known company either and he told me himself and even though they dont advertise in the bridal magazines or anywhere else they have enough business just from referrals....so i would def meet with them and see how you feel
