A vendor who I am waiting for a refund from called me 'Kiddo' on the phone yesterday... I told him I am certinly not a child and he should never refer to me as kiddo again and then I hung up.
Also everytime James and I say we are going to start looking for a house next year people roll their eyes, laugh and say 'Oh you don't know how much it costs to get a house' 'You'll never get a house' What the hell!! Why can't people just be happy for us!! We do know what it costs to get a house, We obv. looked into that first. We have really good credit plus houses are down alot in cost. Our jobs are not effected by our toilet economy. We live with our parents rent free and work full time...it shouldnt be that hard to belive that we saved for a house. People can be so discouraging just because we are young (23)

I totally understand what you are talking about. Just ignore everyone! I get the same comments from people..and am treated like a child...and I am 31! Not too long ago I had my dad come with me to buy a car...and the sales person was blatantly ignoring me. When my Dad mentioned that he should speak with me...the guy was like 'why. she cant possibly by this on her own.' I left and didnt buy the car from him

Definitely can relate to you and Danielle. But I will say this, since seriously looking for a home and we have had some bids in as well - It really is a lot of money, more than you realize. Closing costs are so expensive!!!!

I know how you feel. I'm 23 and FH is 24. There are people out there that think just because we're young, we dont know anything.
Seriously though there are people in this world that 35 and lack the maturity we have. WHen it comes to maturity, age really is just a number. Life experience plays a much bigger factor.

jess try to not take it personally.. if anyone understands you know i do! We were engaged 1 month after turning 21 and married 1 month after turning 23. When people find out were married you would think i married my BROTHER with the looks and comments we get its amazing. I get kiddo all the time and now i can laugh at it but its so frustrating! It will never go away unfortunately people have thier opinions and you know what they say about opinions???
Just wait till you actaully are married and start talking about babies! its so entertaining, sometimes i say it just to see what people will say! i love to hear the Cr@p that comes out of their mouths!
My usual response is then you must be jealous or when you live my life you can make my decisions for me!

I am 23 and FH is 21.... I can't tell you how many times I heard that we are too young. But the great thing is is that we are our own people and if we love each other we can do anything! Get your house - - and rub it in their faces!!! hahaha.

Re: Grrrr- These things make me soo mad!
its funny bc I was getting picked on for being too OLD and not being married yet. When I went home to TN to visit my sister when she had her first child, people were asking me what was taking so long and why wasnt I interested in settling down. I was so upset and hurt. Who do these people get off telling me when I am supposed to cross milestones in my life?!?
