GRRR.....VENT

GRRR.....VENT

Sorry girls...I know I don't post much and I hate for one to be negative but I need to rant for a sec. Is there a reason my cousin thinks it's totally appropriate to call me up and tell me her 7 year old daughter would prefer to wear the jr. bridesmaid dress insteaed of her flower girl dress? This is after I picked a flower girl dress that I wasn't toally crazy about it because she and the other flower girl loved it and I really wanted them to love their dresses that day. I have tons of kids in the wedding and I've been really low key about everything and really trying to accomodate everyone, but seriously...I'm starting to want to say it's MY wedding and I'm sick of doing what everyone else wants and everyoone better just tow the line!!!!! Okay rant over...I know in the scheme of things it's not really that serious and i'll just get back to enjoying planning and this time with FH. I just wish people would sometimes realize how their words can really damper my excitement.

Who cares what her 7 year daughter would prefer to wear?!?! GRRR!!! What's wrong with people these days. This is one of those great opportunities for people to teach their kids that not everything revolves around them. Not saying kids aren't entitled to their opinions and all, but it's a little late after you already picked the dresses. Not to mention it's your wedding... you get to decide other people's roles in the wedding. If you want her to be a flower girl she can say yes or no. She doesn't get to say she'd rather be a BM. That's JMO.

I know I sound like a jerk...it's just that literally I have done so much to include these kids in every decision so that it's fun and they feel involved and it just was hurtful today when basically it was like 'well she doesn't like her dress'. I'm sure it's just a culmination of a bad day that I took it so much to heart, but it's nice to have a place to vent without reprecussions. In the grand scheme of things on that day I'm sure everything will be fine...it just really hurt my feelings because we're going to get measured this weekend and I felt like it was a phone call to basically get me to change it.

This is your wedding day. You get to pick the dresses. Who cares what her daughter perfers to wear. You made your choice if she don't it like well her daughter doesn't have to be in the wedding.

I'd be

I just told FH about this post and he said.. 'Since when does a 7 year old pick out and PAY FOR anything?? She wears what she is told to wear and if that's a problem, there's always the option to sit and watch the wedding instead of being a part of it'..

So well spoken!! Tee hee..

The more I think about it the more I think that it's a case of she wants to be a jr. bridesmaid because there is only 1 in the weddnig while she is 1 of 2 FGs. I just wish her mom hadn't said anything to me because it's not like I was going to kick out my jr. bridesmaid or 'demote' her to FG. Such nonsense. I'm over it...I did the best I could to make everyone happy so that's all I can do!

First off, I can almost not even address your post because I'm too busy looking at how freakin cute your dog is.

Ok, moving forward, that is totally annoying and I agree with you. I've had similar issues with parents and I've chosen to smile and ignore them and have gotten really good at saying 'oh I'm sorry you feel that way but we've already made that decision'
