Thanks to my Party Hardy Sister here are some options:
1) Sandia's on 17th street off of 6th ave. Has a lounge in the front, good drinks, they have a DJ, spanish flavor, and my sister knows the owner so she can help with the reservation
2) SOB's: Brazilian Menu, very good, usually live band on Thur, Fri, Sat.. Drinks can be pricey, no cover charge if we are going for dinner. They are 7 ave near bleeker, On the 28th, Salsa Groove is playing here is the website Sounds of Brazil
3)Brother Jimmy's, this one is uptown 80th and amsterdam ave. It's a BBQ joint, they have a bar, it's a fun place we can be loud if we want too, good music and we can sit outside or in the back for dinner.
4) Giggles - good happy hour place, someone will need to go early to get a table, loud it's a happening after work place on 40th between 6th and bway. Food is typical bar, burgers, wings, mozzrella sticks etc.

Re: GTG Dining Options
Hmmm. I have no clue how to get to any of these places altough I am sure it wont be a problem. Ill go anywhere though. What time is good for you ladies? I work on the island and get off work at 5:30 so by the time I get to the city it will probably be close to 6:30, 7:00 the latest.

Re: GTG Dining Options
I've been to a couple of GTG and I have to say they actually work better in quite places. Though I am sure SOBS is a great place -- it sounds kind of crazy for a casual get together.
Maybe she should try and find a neighborhood place near pen station or grand central?
