Does anyone happen to know if the vendors at the reception hall count as a person...In other words if we have to guarantee 200 people would they count as part of that?

Re: Guarantee amount
I *think* they don't start counting vendors until you reach your guaranteed minimum. My vendors' meals are half the price of a regular meal so that could be why they aren't counted.

i don't think they do...from what i've heard some girls say, the vendors and kids are sometimes not discounted until the minimum is reached
soooo....if the min. is 200 and you have 185 adults, 15 kids and 5 vendors, you technically don't have 200 yet even though that is over 200. ask your hall/prospective halls to be sure, but i think typically, you need the minimum in adults before vendors/kids get discounts...and i don't think vendors count as guests.

They only count if you are paying full price for their meals. When they have a guarantee, they usually mean full price meal count.

I think it depends on the hall. We pay full price for vendors until we meet our min. (and they count), and then half price once we do not need to count anymore.

Exactly, but if end up not hitting your minimum, some halls may negotiate extras with you, like maybe another station at cocktail hour or a chocolate fountain.

Re: Guarantee amount
Yeah... we are not going to meet our minimum, so we are going to have to count our vendors towards it and pay full price for them. It totally stinks, but what can we do? We are also in the same situation with kids.
