Guaranteed 170, but invited 290??!!! My mom is ready to kill me!
We guaranteed a count of 170 for our JT wedding. As time went on, the list grew & grew. By the time the last envelope was sealed & sent, we counted a little over 290 people were invited!!! Now what the heck do I do? Pray that 100 people RSVP 'NO'?
Please tell me that this isn't going to be disatrous!

my 'no' responses were 20% of the total invited, so if that is true for you as well, you're looking at 230 total
then again, it is not at all an exact science! you could have many more no's than that.

Well... I think 100 no's might be a bit of a stretch... but ... maybe a lot of people will be on vacation?

My mom is freaking out!!! I feel so bad, but the majority of the people that were invited were people that SHE wanted there, so I can't even say we shouldn't have invited them because they're from her side. Ugghhh, I can't stop thinking about this!

I don't know, we invited 182 and we are looking at about 57 No's, but there are still more to come. We may have a 31-36% No rate. You may have close to 100 people that may say no.

Well, look at it this way...........they say most of the time 15% respond 'no', so that will help. I think 100 might be a bit of a stretch though.

I dont know - not to sound doom and gloom, but we are in a similar boat, and most people are saying yes - even people who initially said no, told me they may be able to come after all...

We had almost 40% NO's. We invited 240 and guaranteed 175, but will end up with around 150.

Even though you guaranteed 170, you still have room to place extra 20 or 30 people right? I've been to the rooms at JT. With the exception of the room in the subfloor, the other rooms are good sized! Another idea (I'm not sure if you'll like it) is to ask your BM if JT has the oval tables instead of the rounds. You can seat a lot more and conserve more room with the oval tables!! Good luck!!!! Do you think if I called JT & told them about this, then maybe we can change our Guarantee number to higher than the original 170? Maybe they'll give us a deal for less per head. I don't know though, because we already signed the contract back in December & only have 1 more payment to make. My dad thinks this whole thing is gonna make him go broke & I feel so horrible.

How many people can your hall hold?
I don't think it matters if you have more as long as they have the space to accomodate them.
When is the RSVP deadline?

I think it's definitely worth a try. The worst that can happen from asking your BM is him saying 'No' to you. The BM that I delt with was pretty nice when I was there shopping around for a hall couple of months back. If you are going to guarantee him more people he may drop the price pp for you. Either way, he'll still make the money! I'm so sorry you have to deal with the stress right now!! BTW, which room are you booked for?

We guaranteed 110, 127 are coming and we invited around 200.

We invited 187 and only 102 responded yes. We invited a lot of out of town guests that weren't able to attend.

They may do that, I mean at our RH yoou had to guarantee 150 but FH thought we should guarantee 175 and they knocked off $4 a person...I know that it doesnt sound like alot but it adds up fast!!!
