Guastavino's?

Anyone been here? My SIL is looking for a place tonight for her b-day GTG - just drinks. I've heard mixed reviews.

I've been there for happy hour and a few times on the weekend. Its really nice inside but the drinks and food are on the pricey side.

Ive heard very good things about the food and the place looks fabulous!

Daniel Orr (head chef) is a pretty well known chef.

Its a bit on the pricey side but not any more so than most of the similiar places in Manhattan.

Demetra - I lived at 58th and 1st for 4 years and am very familiar with Guastavino's. It is very cool (my GFs took me there impromptu 2 days after I got engaged and the management sent over a bottle of champagne) and the food was very good the 3-4 times I ate there. Its a bit of a hipster scene - but older hipsters, like b/w 28-40. I love the place.

Thanks for the feedback, i guess we'll be headed there tonight.
Rachel - the 28-40 age range is right where I belong
