FH is getting our birth certificates out of our safety deposit box today, so we can do it Monday night when the clerk's office open late - I'm so excited!

i thought you only needed two forms of ID, like your BC and drivers' license. i don't have my passport yet - help! what should i bring?

you don't need ur passport. all they asked me for was my drivers lisence and birth cert.

I thought you only need two forms of ID? You don't need you birth certificate also, right? Just a License and Passport?

you NEED the birth certificate. it has to be original too. i saw them send a couple back home b/c they didn't have it.

Did you go to Town of Hempstead? Or somewhere else? I called Town of Hempstead and they said we did not need this... How long does it take to get a hold of your Birth Certificate?

the rules are different everywhere

i am pretty sure NYC girls dont need a birth cert and Nassau/Suffolk girls DO

i went to town of Islip. it may be different. call them if you can just to make sure. i'm not sure how long it will take to get original BC, my friend went to babylon town hall and didn't have hers but luckily she was born there and they had it on file. she got it the same day.
