Wanted to know if anyone is doing something different than the regular guest book. I want to do something out of the norm. I've seen the well wishes before and I like that idea but I have not found one that I like.
Any suggestions??

I did a signature frame with a pic of our engagement announcement..got it at Michael's w/ a coupon for like $15

i got it from modern bride, i can't take credit for it...
guests will paint! a friend of mine is an artist and once i figure out what i want drawn, i'm going to ask her to draw it for me on a canvas and it will be broken up into a grid- kind of like graphing paper- guests will be asked to paint a square! it's a cocktail style reception, so it will give guests an activity!

we had a photobooth so we made a scrapbook and our guests took a picture and wrote on the scrapbook page.
You can ask guests to send you a picture with the RSVP card and you can make a scrapbook and put the picture in the scrap book and have them sign it at the wedding

The signature frames seem to be very popular...The last wedding I went to had a signature frame and also a guestbook.

Little personal notes with instructions that give options like, 'draw us yourself at our wedding' or 'write us a haiku' or just 'give us your marriage advice' and then later, when we have more time and space, we will arrange all the little notes into a scrapbook with non-professional wedding photos. We just don't have a place for a frame or plate yet, and a regular guestbook seemed like something we would never look at or get any fun out of.

I'm using a signature platter from Pottery Piazza. I initially saw one of these on KK Holiday's review and I LOVED it! Here's what mine will look like (except the grapes will be green). They come with markers for the guests to sign with.

I am making a wish tree instead of a guest book. It does not look that hard to make and each person writes a wish for you on a piece of paper and you hang it from the tree.

I made a photo album with one to two pics per page and had the guests sign all around the pics, so it can double as a photo album and not just a guestbook.
I'm going the Southern traditional route - similar to a Steuben signature bowl with a diamond etching pen. Just not the cost of the Steuben glass bowl though.
Something else original that I considered was was signature board from http://www.piergustafson.com/pages/signin.html. He will custom design the board for you, with your names, colors, dates and wedding party names or anything else you can think of.

We're doing a custom photo calendar at Zazzle.com for our first year together and asking people to sign in the margins on whatever month they want or maybe their birth month.
