sn00k4, I think she means something like an easel.
I've been looking for an INEXPENSIVE one with no luck.
If you don't mind spending 40-50 dollars on a decent easel, they are available at art stores.
You know what?? I was thinking about going to Toys R Us and purchasing a kids blackboard and maybe putting some nice fabric on top of it to disguise the fact that it's a blackboard.
I bought several backup pens cause I think my drunk guests will steal the pens.

I didn't buy the pen stand- I wanted to get gold pens that matched my book but I forgot- so we wound up using the Carlyle pens!!! Doh! I would suggest getting a few nice pens to put around the book!

this was something i didnt think i would do bc i thought it was nonsense to spend money on a pen & stand but towards the very end, i broke down and just did it bc i didnt know how else to have my guestbook arranged. let me see if i can find the link for you. i know mine wasnt too expensive and it was very pretty and simple.
