FH and I have a question: our minimum is 120, but what if we wind up with less than 120? FH understands it as the minimum being that we pay for is 120, but that 120 don't have to show up. We're both ok with paying for 120 people in the event that we only have 95. Can someone clarify this for us? Thanks!

You are correct.

Re: Guest count question
Having seat fillers is also an option.. do you have any work friends that wouldn't be offended if you were to invite them last minute? Or you can invite girls on here as last minute guests.. I think we set the amount to give as $50.

Re: Guest count question
Ok, thanks for the clarification! FH and I were going over our guest lists, and we don't have enough. We're working on adding B list people to our A list, and hoping that they're not too surprised they're being invited to our wedding. Some people I'm going to invite didn't even get a STD, but whatever, right?

Re: Guest count question
Ok FH was skeptical so he called Crest Hollow and spoke to BM Thomas (he was the only one available) and Thomas confirmed that we are obligated to pay for 120 people, but that we do not have to have the minimum number of guests. The BM seemed like he thought we didn't know we had to follow our contract lol

Sometimes some halls will those in extras, so you are paying the $$ but getting something for it.
And there is nothing wrong with a B list, with this economy people should be understanding.

Re: Guest count question
If your guarantee is 120 then you pay for 120 even if you have 95 guests. Nothing wrong with a B list. HTH

Re: Guest count question
We asked our RH this exact question, and they said that if our minimum doesn't show up, they would throw in an upgrade of some kind for us so that we aren't paying for nothing.

Where is your reception? It would have been nice if Crest Hollow followed this option, but I have to remind myself that what they're charging for our minimum is a steal.

Re: Guest count question
Flowerfield. You should inquire with your RH about it. I've heard of other RH's honoring this policy as well!

Re: Guest count question
someone told me their hall let them pay the child's price for meals because they had sooo many no shows.....so some halls are nicer i guess and will work with you if you have a huge amount under the min
