guest list

I am using www.theknot.com
They have a great guest list feature which gives you number of invitations and everything. The really good thing about it for me is that you can access it from the internet which means i can use it at work and my mom could access it too (for shower addresses and stuff).

Oh!! and the knot list can be converted into an excel sheet

I am using an Excel spreadsheet as well

originally i used word to create a list of people that i color coded (i kept forgetting i had added excel to my computer) based on relation to myself and FH...it was pretty detailed. now that we're about to send out invites, i have written every name/address on index cards with a number (to correspond with the one i'll write on their response cards) and i used those cards to put into the excel spreadsheet so i will know how many have come in and how many are coming.

the index cards are a must for me so that when i go to write out names and addresses, i can look at ONE card at a time as opposed to a list and have all info. needed for each invite right there on a card. i took a lot of heat at our e-party for accidentally inviting some aunts that weren't supposed to be (we just weren't inviting that far out) because i had used a list of addresses and got carried away and didn't realize i had written the wrong ones.
