OK...I can only invite 150 - and my A list is 164 - and since my wedding is in March (dead time of year) I think everyone might be able to come -
What are the chances that almost EVERYONE from my A list replies yes?

Re: Guest List
I've heard there is a formula that 12% don't come. I've also heard that it's 20% that don't come.

Re: Guest List
It varies from wedding to wedding. The amount I hear thrown around the most is 20%, but is it like that for every wedding no. I know one bride where almost every single person said yes. For my wedding, we invited 185 people and 137 people came If I had followed the standard 20% then I would have had like 147 people at my wedding.
Is 150 your min? or is it the max your hall can hold?

Re: Guest List
I also have a minimum guarantee of 150 (which FH and I do NOT want to go over) BUT we invited 170....And we will probably need to go to the B list....Invite the 164...

Re: Guest List
did u send out save the dates???? sometimes that plays on people coming...we NEEDE people to say no(lol i know that sounds terrible but we did!) me and my mother SWORE that we couldn't think of anybody to say they couldn't come....and last minute we found ourselves trying to fill spots to meet our minimum! It happens...u never know - i mean there are rare cases..a very good friend of mine only had 3 no's...but she was also marrying the son of a pastor so i think that had a lot to do with people coming. ANYWAYS, i think u'll definetly be in the clear. no worries. if u even get 10rsvp's back with 'no's' that's about 20people knocked off (usually because of couples, etc.) don't stress! it's to early to stress! lol.

i have the same fear .... you think it's bad to just invite 150 and keep the other 14 sorta .. waiting for the invite?

Re: Guest List
It's really hard to tell - but there will probably be at least SOME people that can't go.
I had the same fear, b/c everyone seemed to say they couldn't wait to come.... I was hoping for 140, and invited 170!! And you know what? My final headcount was 125.
Odds are you'll be safe inviting the extra people, but if you want to play it safe, put them to the side and send them out after you start getting responses if it looks like they'll fit.

Wow thank you, that makes me feel so much better. What do you mean about SDT's? Does that let you know if people wont be able to make it or does that guarantee that they will go (sending mines this weekend)

Re: Guest List
Be careful...we had a whole bunch of guarunteed nos send back a yes RSVP. So far we have only had one no for 2 people and we are already almost there. In fact the people that we are waiting on are people that don't feel like they should send it back b/c we should know they are coming. I'm anticipating 95% yes. If you send out your invites early you can send out invites to the extra people as nos come in.

A friend of mine invited 264 people. She assumed th 12 or 20 % wouldn't come. She only got 7 nos. You never know!
