Guest List

How do you keep this list from getting to 300?? And can anyone explain to me the concept of A B and C lists. How do you have enough time to invite people from the B and C lists if you have to wait for responses from the A list people first???

Re: Guest List

I dont think this is the common way of handling it but I am having two different RSVP dates. I am ordering the main batch of my invitations with a March 1 RSVP date and then ordering 25 more (for the B list) with a April 1, RSVP date. My wedding is April 18. I know that March 1 is a little early but I didnt want to be sending invites to people on a B list with a RSVP date that had eithered past or was in like a week from when they got it. This isnt to offend anyone else, I think a lot of girls just send to their B list as their A invites come in and if they see they are going to need to invite more. I personally just wanted to wait to have my first batch back and then know exactly how many more I needed to send out.

As far as the guest list not getting to big, lol, cant help you their sista

(I might even move that first RSVP date to like the last week of Feb and the second to the end of March so Ill have enough time to know whos coming from the second batch, if this makes sense)

I asked the same question, whats the purpose of a B list and how it works. i'll see if i can find it and i'll bump it for you.

My guest list will be about 225 )min is 150 we are ok having 175-180 come.

I have a much bigger family then FH does so he is inviting more friends then i am to keep the guest list even. I'm only inviting really really close friends and close close co-workers. If i invited all friends and all co-workers my guest list alone would be 200 people.

Re: Guest List

I have an A and a B list. I am DIY'ing my invites so I will have two RSVP dates. The 1st RSVP date is 1 month before the wedding, the 2nd, 2 weeks before. If/when I start getting a lot of 'no' responses from the A list mailing, I will start sending the B list people starting with those on the top of the B list.

My room is tricky b/c I have to guarantee 130, but it only holds about 170 comfortably, and my A list is 175. I may never even send the B list, but it's for 'just in case' my 'no's' will cause me to go below my minimum.

I hope this makes sense.
