I have to have a minimum of 150 people guaranteed for our room. I have had a list made pretty much since we got engaged last year. I looked it over and I have about 165 people on it. I noticed that I'm not really in contact with a few people and that would make my list go down more. I see that so many brides have a problem with having too many people but mine is not having enough. I'm not gonna invite people I'm not in contact with anymore unless it's family cause I have to invite them. But what happens if I can't make the guarantee for the 150? Do I still have to pay for the full number of people of just for the ones who actually come. I'm so nervous that I'm gonna send out invites and so many people are gonna say they can't come!!!!

I think it depends on the hall. Some will make you pay regardless, but with others you might be able to work with them and use that money to add on extras you weren't originally going to have.
You can usually use your vendors to count towards your head count, so that might help too.

I know my hall you have to pay for the minimum number of guests. But if the minimum is not coming, then they will throw stuff in, like cookies with dessert or something extra during the cocktail hour.

You have to pay no matter what but most places really try and help you out..DON'T stress about something that may not even be a reality..wait to see the RSVPs..prepare a B list just in case so you have peace of mind

Sme halls let you use your vendors as guests to help meet the minimum

This!
Fh and I drafted a guest list as soon as we started planning, and as we're making it closer to final -it's changed quite a bit. Particularly in regards to friends.

Yes this is the most difficult thing because with being super busy it's hard to see EVERYONE regularly. We also use each other as seat fillers if you need! I would absolutely go to some weddings from here!

Really?! I was not aware that people do that. Thats def good to know. I'm hoping for it not to be a problem but it's sad to see how many people i lost touch with thru out the years.I used to be out and about every weekend with friends. now i'm lucky if i see them once every month or so. It sucks getting older
