FH and i did not invite people with guests unless they were in relationships. One of Fh's somewhat close friends started dating someone about 4-6 months ago and we did not invite her. they are still together and he called FH asking if he could bring her. FH explained it has to do with our count etc and we would get back to him (he said he understands and will still come regardless).
number wise we can go either way (invite her or not - one person wont make or break us). I dont personally like this guy so i dont want him to bring her, plus i look at it as its been 4-6 months and we never met her - no need to meet her at the wedding for the first time. Fh is fighting to invite her but now the drama is that his ex gf is coming to the wedding and she told me she cant handle it if he is there with another girl, she will have anxiety etc. (she said she is fine with seeing him, just not him with a new gf) part of me thinks now on spite i want to invite her bc his ex needs to grow up, but part of me says stick with not inviting the new gf to avoid drama
what would you do?

Well ... its a tough situation. But etiquette is if someone is in a relationship for 6 months they would be invited with that person. Especially if they are a close friend of your future hubbys! Again, it is up to each couple but if he asked it seems like it would be important. A wedding is always more fun with your partner! I would invite her and your friends anxiety will dissipate. Its about you and your hubby!

I'd invite him with his girlfriend.
ETA: This sounds like a situation I was once in except I was the new girlfriend and NOT allowed at the wedding. I was really hurt...and so was DH.

such a tough situation.. but I agree with the other girls that maybe you should just invite her, especially if it's not a problem count or money wise. At least the guy is being understanding.. your friend that is his ex should suck it up it's your big day and shouldn't let on and let you worry that she will have anxiety.
I know how close FH and I were after 6 months and I would have been upset to not be invited to his good friend's wedding.

I agree, i would invite her. It's not your problem if ex can't handle it unfortunately.

Re: guest list drama....opinions needed
IMO 1) you shouldn't have to worry about his ex-gf feelings (she does need to grow up - this is your wedding, it's not about her!) and 2) if it's going to cause tension between you and FH not to invite the new gf, I don't think it's worth it. Just invite her.

Just let him bring her. You can't worry about what people think about other guests. If it's FH's friend I would just tell the ex to suck it up. Or not even mention it - it's really none of her business.

As adults, a 6 month relationship is usually pretty established. If I were in your situation, I'd invite her.
