I am having a day wedding and was wondering if anyone has had this issue: I invited a couple, only their name appears on the invite, both outer and inner envelopes- and they responded with their children. This has happened with 5 different invitations. Is this common? I made quite a few uncomfortable phone calls to fix this issue and it has been emotionally exhausting.
We had two people (both DH's side) do the same thing. I don't think it has anything to do with a day wedding or evening wedding. I think some people just believe that they can bring their children anywhere, that if they're invited, the children are invited.
Unfortunately, if you don't want children there, then you're going to have to continue with the akward phone calls. Poeple are just rude. I've been pretty lucky and only had two people add others on their response. My FH 18 year old cousin invited a date. Here mom even told FMIL that she had called me to make sure it was ok- which she didn't. Then there was one of FMILs friends who apparently has a boyfriend we didn't know about, so she took it upon hersefl to write his name in.
