guest list - numbers

guest list - numbers

We would like to have 125-130 guests (ideally) and I am planning on sending out 145 invitations. We already know of 3 people who are 99% not coming. Do you think this is a good number of invites to send out? I would like to invite around 6 more people and don't know if I should hold out to see how many no's we get or just send them all out and risk it...

this is also kind of tricky because the people I want to add I would consider inviting to my shower but can't invite them to my shower if I don't end up inviting them to the wedding....

hope this makes sense!! Please help!

We're inviting 230. We're trying to get the list down but there are so many aunts, uncles & cousins that we can't cut out.
We're hoping only 200 say yes because even though the room accomodates 235 it would be really tight.
We'll see what happens.

supposedly 20% say no, so you should be ok

Ok i know you mean send out invites to 145 people but there are people who have done this and realized after but you need LESS than that many invitations, im saying this bc of how you worded it. If you plan on inviting 145 people then you need half of that, obviously there will be alot of couples who get invites and families so they get 1 each. If you know this already sorry just saying it bc some people ordered the same number of invites as the number of guests they are having and then were like oh wait we dont send it to each individual.

But they say anywhere from 15-20% of guests rsvp no, but you cant go by on that and expect to get exactly that...Each wedding is different so you cant go by on that

You should be okay with those numbers...

However, I do not understand why you're not sure if you even want to invite these 6 people to your wedding, but if you did invite them to the wedding, you'd invite them to the shower. The shower is for those women closest to the bride and groom. If they're not on the A list, they do NOT belong at the shower IMHO.

I guess it depends....because i sent out 96 invitations with the assumption that everyone would bring a guest....right now I am at 135 people....

I thought the OP meant she's inviting 145 people - not physical invitations...
