So our guest list somehow spiraled out of control and got up to 371 people. The major issue is that our room holds a max of 350. FH and I weren't counted in the 371, so that brings us to 373.
So far, out of the 46 reply cards that we got back, only 3 have been no's. I am really starting to panic that we are not going to go below our maximum capacity! It seems like EVERYONE wants to come, which in many ways is wonderful, but in this one very practical way is making me freak out.

Don't freak out. You have so many responses to come back still. Don't panic just yet

The thing is, aside from the ones that we have received, we have heard through the grapevine of a ton more people that ARE coming and haven't really heard any at all that ARE NOT.
SCARY!!!!! I don't believe in the 20% rule anymore!!!!

If it helps at all, i've been told that usually the people who are a definite send their RSVPs back right away. People who say 'No' tend to send them later on. I'm not sure if that's b/c they are trying to come, or trying to find a reason to tell you why the aren't coming or whatever, but most people who i spoke to about their weddings all said the same thing.
plus, a family friend who is like a brother to me, told my bro and my dad verbally that he can't come. I'm sure he knows how upset I'll be about that... He hasn't told me nor has he sent back his RSVP yet. I think he doesn't want to be the first 'No' ... you know what i mean? Stop being so darn popular!!

Don't panic yet It may all work out in the end. Give RH a call and see if there is anything they can possibly do to accomodate seating for over 350.

Re: Guest list panic
this makes me nervous too. We're inviting a lot of people (not more than the max but still a lot) and i'm anticipating a lot of NOs, particularly from OOTers, which we have a lot of. Still, you never know!

So frustrating! My cousin from Nevada, I did not invite with guest, but she is bringing someone with her from NV to NY. She is my first cousin and I can't make this guy sit in a hotel room while she is at the wedding. UGH! No one else has pulled that so far.
When we booked our room, our guest list was only 300 so we had no worries. Now we have alot of worry!

Re: Guest list panic
There are also those that say they are coming and don't show either. Some you may never thought would miss it but emergencies happen.
