Excel spreasheet. I had one column assigned to each line of the address, a column for number of guests invited and an RSVP# column.

Re: Guest List Question
My 2cents - If you are using Excel and may use it for merge purposes later on, make sure you use a different column for each separate piece of data. It makes things easier!
Column1-Number for inside response card Column2-Title (Mr. Dr. Mr and Mrs) Column3-First Name Column4-Last Name Column5-Spouse/Date First Name Column6-StreetAddress Column7-City Column8-State etc......

Re: Guest List Question
Thanks Lisa on your thoughts!
I am also doing the # invited column and RSVP column!!! But now that I have it written, I think I am going to separate by Father's family, Mother's family, my friends, parents friends! UGH! A LOT of work...
John's family get's their own sheet! Haven't even started that one yet!
Thanks Denise! That's helpful!

Re: Guest List Question
I purchased wedding planning software through theweddingtracker.com IT'S UNBELIEVABLE. You can export your guest list to Excel . . . It allows you separate A list from B list, it can generate a guest list of guests with missing addresses . . .it keeps track of your out of town guests. You can keep track of other events associated with your wedding like, your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, bachelorette party, and other things. You can even record invitations, RSVPs, and gifts! Tons of other stuff too.
They even give you a website! Your website address will be your&your fiance.com
It's great.

Re: Guest List Question
59.95 for 1 yr. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT!!! They give you the option to renew after a year if you want....which is a great idea especially to keep your website up online. (Did I mention that it gives your guests the option to RSVP online too??) You can set up a free 2 week trial. Go try it! It's very user friendly!
Somebody is a genious for inventing this.

Re: Guest List Question
Thanks, I'll have to check it out... however, my wedding is in 8 months, I won't need it for a year... I have to be cheap somewhere...

Re: Guest List Question
I understand cutting costs where necessary. TRUST ME, I KNOW!!!
I guess the only bad thing is, you have to purchase the 'membership' for a year. But the good thing is, you can still keep record of things like gifts received, and thank you cards sent and your very own personal website....which you can upload up to 200 pictures from your wedding!
Good luck!

Re: Guest List Question
EXCEL all the way BABY!!!! LOVE IT!!! Its much easier for me....I use separate sheets for his/her list and just use a formula to add the list together...you can always change things around for your liking.....

Re: Guest List Question
this is what i did if it helps....at the bottom are my different sheets, the left column i used to count the # of invitiations and the right colum willbe the # attending
I am in the process of re-doing my list... to incorporate silibonz and niecey's thoughts, with the different columns for every thing... I'm confused though...
There is a column for title, first name, last name and then column for guest. What about if they are married??? The spouse's title, first & last name go in the same column? or is just first name? please help!
Nothing like getting an excel lesson without being able to speak to my teachers! haha!
Thanks again ladies!

Re: Guest List Question - those using Excel
Oct-I personalized (used less formal addressing) my inner envelopes so I put the spouses' first name in my Guest column. If you want to FM me your email address, I can send you my spreadsheet...and you can see if this helps or you can FM me directly with questions!
