Guest List size?!?! POLL

Hey... I was curious about all your guest lists! Which side has a bigger list Groom's side or the Bride's side?

Ours is the Grooms list! Even if we move HIS friends to the Bride's list... His MOM's list still exceeds!

Is that NOT insane! We dont even know half of them.. how am I supposed to cut the lines at the cocktail hr.. 'excuse me I dont know you I will never see you again but I am going ahead of you!' Yes... I will be a bride that cuts the lines, so much to pack into one day we dont have time to wait on line

I went to a wedding once as a guest w/a friend where I didnt know the bride or groom. I will never do that again, it sucked! I even felt embarassed being there, I felt like a crasher! Now I'm the bride and I dont want all these people there I dont know... am I wrong?

My Dh's side was much larger than mine.

My side is about 2x the size of my FH's. He doesn't have much family left so he's only got about 30 people on his list. I'm encouraging him to find more people to invite so we meet our min. I've got about 70-80 people on mine, I would add more but I don't want my side to be that much bigger than his.

Oh my! My side of the family is about 4x bigger than his!! He's inviting more friends than I am, but still his side is smaller than just my family (I have my mother to thank for that, she told me I could invite 17 people from our family or 117, but nothing in between).

hummm... I am opposite, I have a larger family, his is only about 30! My whole list is about 100, his friends is about 50 (including possible guests with his friends so really more like 30)... his moms 170ish!!!

My guest list was:

Attended
Me = 20 guests
Him = 80 guests

Invited
Me = 45 guests
Him = 95 guests

I have 40 people on my list and he has 220. And he cut down his list.

His side has more than mine. And that's mostly his family, and a few close friends from work. I have my family, my friends and friends from work and his side still has more! Ha ha!

We actually have about the same number, give or a take a few. Before we even talked about numbers, we did our lists separately and then compared, it was kind of funny.

My list is bigger than his by about 40 people. Although he insists that from his list the max number of no-shows is 5, whereas from my list the number of guaranteed no-shows is 6, (IE: my grandmother who is 92 and lives in Florida) and the projected number is 25.

Me definitely more than him......my family is huge and my mother keeps inviting more and more people so my side is like triple his side.

his is three times the size of mine! he was a big-time athlete in hs and college, so he felt the need to invite every single person that has ever been on one of his teams.

Would you believe that we are an even split? 244 people. 122 on FH's side (friends and family) and the same on mine. My family is making the wedding for the most part and we gave FH's side no limit.

We have 243 people on the list (Currently)...

= 208
= 35

All of his family is from OOT and we're estimating the attending will be

= 165
= 10

But he's okay with the list. Our engagement party was all my family (his family pulled out at the last minute). So he's already met 100+ of my guests. He figures my family and friends will be his (very true - they've practically adopted him), so they're all OUR guests.
