Guest List.. Ugh

I've been working on my guest list.. I can't cut anyone else off. My room fits 150 guest.. My list is at 170. I don't know what to do... Am I safe.. Everyone says 20% will say no

I am having the same problem! I just came back from my parents house where my mom scared the crap out of me by asking 'what if they all come?' I am inviting 262 and can only fit 230.

I think you are safe though, you only need 20 peopel to decline....good luck..

I am having the same problem!!! I have an 'A list' of 238 and a 'B list' of 15 people and my hall only holds 220!!!!

I thought I was the only one. UGH...my room holds 240 and my list is up to 270.

You should be fine. I have 326 on my list my room holds 300 (not comfortably) so i pray that i only get b/w 250-270.

I invited 275 people and only 180 are coming
Don't stress Peolpe do say no.
I had someone respond yes and then sent me a card telling me that she was not able to come due to money issues Thank God she told me now because i am getting married in 28 days

Isn't it nerve wracking?? I just started finalizing the guest list- our 'bare minimum' list is 200 people- but our budget only has room for 175

All I can do at this point is laugh- I guess I am losing it

Yea, you're safe with your number. I've heard the same 20% will decline. I have the opposite problem, I have to guarrantee 100 and that's the whole guest list. I really can't think of anyone else to invite, he doesn't have much family and my side already takes up about 2/3 of the list. I feel bad filling the room with 'my' people.

Your safe... I sent out STD's and still ended up getting a lot of declines. I have had a couple of people say they are coming but now a month before telling me they can't come...

Yup, I think you're ok. I heard 10% would say no from some vendors when I booked, but it ended up being way more than that, and I think reality is more like 20%. (I had a lot of OOTs, but I don't know if that makes a difference.) I stressed the most over this issue, and in the end, I had exactly how many people I wanted (which was significantly less than my dad, who wanted what seemed like the entire population of New York.) You should be fine.

It's never wracking, isn't it? I cut my list as much as I could, and still wound up with 170 people on it though I could only afford 125 (room will accommodate, pocketbook won't). I rolled the dice and so far, 150 people are coming (excluding me and FH!) Some will decline, but be careful.
