When did everyone finalize their guest list?

GOod question. If it were up to me, I would have it done but the 'other' half won't call his mom or dad to get his half going....

we finalized it months ago - over the summer....i was a pain in the butt about getting it done and i pestered everyone until it was final!!!
but now we dont' have to worry about it!!

we finalized ours over a year in advance(both still live @ parents so it was easy)

This was one of the first things I did. I used the excuse that I needed ALL addresses for my STD's. Since I sent those out...I have just about everything. Except a few stragglers here and there. I told FH that if he doesn't get me the last few addresses...there will be no invites sent to these people...end of story!

OMG... Here are our conversations...

Dale: 'there is my cousin Kristina and her husband David.'

Jen: 'what is their last name Dale?'

Dale: 'I don't know, she got married and I don't know his last name.'

Now I am like WTF?????? If you don't know their last names, do we NEED to invite them???? I know more about the girls on the board then I do about his family.

I rather invite the girls on LIWEddings.

That's probably how my fiance is, except he would know the last names and how they are related, but could not describe what they looked like\

When I sent out the save the dates I used the excuse to get everyone's addresses too!! I knew it would be like pulling teeth for FI so I got it over with in one shot!!

I'm just getting started on finalizing the list! I hope to get his side done when we go visit his parents in NC for X-mas. Either way, it's gotta get done soon, I have to send out STDs.

We didnt do STDs (nor did we have an e-party) so we still havent finalized it but I am aiming for the end of January this way I can hand it over to my mom for the shower and I can order invites and stuff!

I jsut received my invites yesterday and there are still people that he's sending me that I didn't have on an original list!! Yeesh!

I thought we had finalized our invite list about 8 months before the wedding.

But literally as we were stuffing the envelopes DH comes up with 3 or 4 more cousins. When I asked where they came from and why I never heard of them before he said that he had to ask his sister their names because he wasn't sure (BTW - these are first cousins!! Obviously, he's not close to this side of the family )

Wanna hear frustrating? My FH is from another country. His parents are each one of 11 children! I know his immediate family is coming. His mom was here last month and I asked her who she is planning on inviting from her family. She doesn't even know!! SHe doesn't know if she should invite everyone (Hoping they don't come- b/c it is not in our budget to have 200 additional people fly in) or should she only invite the siblings they are close to. We will be having another party in my FH country, eventually. Our local list is pretty final since the engagement party. We may just cut a few people who left the country or that we have lost touch with.
