Anyone else having trouble arriving at the right number of guests to invite to the wedding. We have a number in mind and we allowed both sets of parents to invite who they wanted to....and we're still like 5 couples over where we need to be. And the number we said we'd invite is more than we can actually afford - so we're counting on some peole not being able to come!
It's starting to get frustrating because it's only like 11 people that are the problem!
Is anyone else dealing with this?
Did anyone else figure out a way to resolve this issue????
HELP!

Re: Guest Lists
we ended up with way more people on the list than we thought, we just invited everyone though. i've heard that 20-25% of people don't show up so if we get that then we'll be right where we needed to be. i think it's only 11 people so you may as well go for it, or put those people on a b list and if you get no's in the beginning then invite them.

Re: Guest Lists
the problem is that NO ONE is willing to put anyone on a B list. I tried that, believe me. And then there's the issue of whic area do we cut guests from - his side, my side? Very Very frustrating!!!

Re: Guest Lists
We are totally having the same problem. We are paying for the wedding, so we figured invite 200 expect 180. Then we figured that we can only afford 150. So everyone's list gets cut down. Now it seems there is no way to make everyone happy. We tried to give each family a certain number of people, but my mom's family is huge, and while my FMIL is inviting people she works with my mom cannot invite close family, so that didn't work. Still no solution, but this budget/guest list thing su cks.
