I am noticing that a lot of ladies have a high percentage of guests replying 'NO' in their profiles. That really worries me!
Those of you that sent out STDs, do you think that helped your numbers? Or do you think that it's just the terrible economy that is causing people to say no? I couldnt see how the economy would really cause someone to say that they couldnt go to a wedding...it's 400 dollars, not 4000.

Re: Guest Numbers...
Were debating sending STDs altogther because of that. It seems very important to have a B-list and were concerned about having people on a B-List who did not get STDs but know people who did.

Re: Guest Numbers...
My main concern is that the A-listers will RSVP late to send the B-listers invitations :(

Re: Guest Numbers...
I don't think that my STDs effected anything or will effect my numbers... we are really only inviting family and CLOSE friends and no out of towners so I am not anticipating many NOs.... I think you will tend to get more NOs if you have a lot of out of towners or not so close friends being invited or if you are inviting friends of the parents that sort of thing

$400 is a lot for some families... especially for the ones who just lost their jobs... did you happen to read the post on here about the girls whose company is laying off all those people? check it out...

To some people $400 is a lot of $. I am not meaning to be rude, but I can see how the economy would force people to say no out of embarrassment. I don't think people understand that most of us would rather have them there with no gift than no have them there at all.

Re: Guest Numbers...
I completely understand that...but I would think that the bride and groom would know that couple's situation and would understand. I had just graduated college when my cousin got married and had absolutely no money bc i didnt have a job...I gave 100 bucks to them. Did I feel bad...sure....but they knew my situation...I would never have missed her wedding!

Re: Guest Numbers...
I'm probably going to send out my invites 8 weeks before as opposed to 6 and have an earlier RSVP date to allow for a little B list leeway.
That being said, we're inviting 160 (which FH is trying to get me to CUT! and I'm like no way jose!) and our minimum is 120. I think we'll end up with like 125 ish...
ETA I've read and heard that you should expect at LEAST 20% to not come.
