So I dont want to do a traditional guestbook. I was thinking about a poleroid guestbook or a framed picture of us that the mat gets signed. Any ideas or opinions?

I went to an engagement party where they had the mat to sign...it was such a great idea however not everyone signed...but i guess not everyone will sign a guest book either

Re: guestbook ideas?
I really like the idea of having the guests sign a framed picture of us because at least we'd get to hang it on our wall. A guest book would just be packed away. It's not like I'll leave it on my coffee table so people could see who came to my wedding...lol. The polaroid idea is good too.

Re: guestbook ideas?
I'm a fan of the polaroid guestbook because I think people are inclinded to write a longer/more personal message than when signing the photomat and its also interesting for you to look at more than once after the wedding is over...my MOH had a polaroid guestbook at her wedding and it was a big hit...

FH is a musician so we bought an acoustic guitar and plan on using that as our signing board. We're going to hang it in his studio/my office.
Cool idea with the guitar....unfortunatly we are not musically inclined......any other ideas???

I like the framed photo idea...I think we are going to do that. I've also see these plates that have your names and the wedding date and people can sign the plate. They have some really cute ones.

Re: guestbook ideas?
I bought a scrapbook and filled it with photos of DH and I growing up and dating. I left black space along each page for guests to sign along the pages and leave notes!

Re: guestbook ideas?
we are using a tray for guests to sign and will be displayed on our wall or we could use it! from wealthwood.com
ETA: my tray holds 200 signatures. make sure you know how big one is before you buy I was going to get one from exclusivelyweddings for 100 bucks but it was sooo small held like 70 singatures and didnt realize till my mom pointed it out
We used a very non-traditional 'book' - I work in the healthcare industry and we use posters to display research information, etc. I used www.postersession.com - and they have a template you use to Power Point and we made a huge poster 3ft by 4 ft - and put in a pic of us, who we are, how we met, how he proposed, what we like to do together, etc. We also put our wedding song lyrics on it -as we used a Christian song that not many people are familiar with and they are so beautiful and wanted to share them with our guests. We had them print it, we posted it on a peice of plywood for backing, and we left Sharpies for all to sign it. We will then deconstruct it from the plywood, and then take it to Staples to have it laminated. You can get it laminated from the company, but I was worried about the Sharpies being permanent with the plastic, so I will get it laminated now. Everyone commented to us on how original it was and how they enjoyed it.

side note: what was your wedding song? was it 'when God made you' by new song and natalie grant?
we're doing a polaroid book... not too original in this neck of the woods, but my guests haven't seen it, so it will be 'new' to someone
